Ordinary consciousness operating at the height of normal efficiency looks at both the physical world and man’s inner one as machinery to be figured out, while the extraordinary few look upon the latter as theatre.
To routine minds, understanding how life works seems to be an engineering problem, but the fantastic few see the situation as being an engineering solution.
A curious story:|
One man ran out of advice for others, at the exact same time he ran out of it for himself.
The world’s oldest known morning prayer was:
“May the gods this day direct my thoughts.”
How did men stray so far from that original view which had nothing to do with supernatural beings, but everything to do with the supreme matter of mortal importance – thought? (The normal unfocused neural situation can be controlled by laughing or singing, sans words, while the wandering head voice is trying to talk. And it can be brought under constant control if you constantly laugh or so sing.)
After spending considerable time in pursuit of The Great Secret, one man sat down to rest for a bit, and suddenly began to so ponder: “Is there a lesson I should have already spotted based on the fact that I have two of everything important. Two hands, two feet, two ears, two brain hemispheres, but yet three eyes. The two I see with and the other one that tries to tell me what I see?!” (He did not sit as long as he had planned.)
