In never-described practice it is like this:
“That part of my brain with the mental sickness tells me that what it tells me is correct, and that what your sick brain part is telling you is wrong. The function in my brain with the mental sickness assures me that what it tells me is a direct representation of reality, while your brain’s form of the mental sickness describes reality to you in such a distorted way that it is no longer reality, but illusion.
This mental sickness, which everyone has, is responsible for any and all progress man has achieved. All change that man has undergone since his inception is directly attributable to this mental sickness. No mental sickness, no civilization; no sickness, no art; no sickness, no religion; no sickness, no literature; no sickness, no science, no technology, no medicine, (for the body, that is; the brain’s no dope). Also of note is that, sans the sickness, no individuality.
For those whose pressing interest in life is to do The Thing, this mental sickness’ primary manifestation in the general population is also their primary private concern (that is): regarding how the sickness establishes in man’s thinking the illusion that there is something apart from reality. (And by the by, acknowledge its perverse humor in then telling him to call this illusion-of-a-deviation-from-reality by the name of illusion. (Couldn’t you just squeeze the adorable little scamp to death!)
Those wanting to do The Thing only have one obstacle to overcome: this mental sickness which produces the illusion that reality and illusion are two. The way to tell that you are still under its sway is if you do not recognize the previous sentence. Only men who say there is a difference between reality and illusion are not being harmed by the mental sickness that makes them say this. Only the few who do feel harm from it are struggling – no matter how unawares – to free themselves from the individually-meaningless, but collectively-useful hallucination that there are two things present and going-on: reality AND illusion.
