Each day’s schedule lists:
“Resistance – resistance – resistance is surely the key!”
At the end of the week, resistance accomplishes nothing unless you understand correctly what TO resist. At the end of the month, resistance accomplishes nothing, unless by then you understand what resistance amounts to.
What if you were a cop, and had to go out every day and fight crime; or a preacher and had to go out every day and fight sin; or a teacher and had to go out every day and fight ignorance? Worst of all, what if you were a person trying to do The Thing, who must get up every morning and immediately starting fighting himself.
Everyone has one foot nailed to the floor. You can wave your arms, shake your head, and slide the free foot about, and thus experience the sensation of some freedom, but you still have one foot secured firmly in place. Thus from that spot – thou shalt not move – but, that is old news around here.
Here is the fresh side of it:
Everything that lives will always have one foot nailed to the floor, (be thankful, most living things have both feet down), and as always, the inescapable is not the alert man’s problem. If you are determined to do The Thing, what you need note is, your confusing of the nailed foot with the free one.
