Summary

#1372 – 12/09:
Notes by TK

Man’s sense of individuality arises from thought interfering with the impersonal flow of consciousness. At the collective level the division manifests as feeling of ethnic identity, nationality, religious distinctions. Thought chops up seamless reality like breath divides air by inhalation and exhalation. The basis of thought is self-protection: the animal instinct of expansion/protection of territory.

The News

94125-1
Everyone mentally comments on things,
Some people decide that they dislike certain of their comments, this can appear to be progress of a sort,
But to awaken, one must go past disapproval of specific comments.
It snows everywhere in Alaska — but red-hot Eskimos don’t care.

94125-2
The host of a tv, auto-repair show closed each episode with the reminder: “Remember — don’t drive with your brakes on.”,
And one viewer got struck by its potential alligoricalness,
And wonder if indeed
The man on tv
Was merely a mechanic.

94125 -3
The rank illogic of this sort of stuff
A man asked a mystic:
“Is being mentally deliberate the same as being more conscious?” “No”, he replied, “But being the opposite will make you less so,”
There was once a band of neurons — I mean, men,
Who gave thanks for the difference between the illogical, & the impossible.

94125-4
Without relative, qualitative judgements you cannot live an ordinary life -without transcending them, you can’t live an otherwise one.

94125- 5
One man’s progress was that: reading began to make his head hurt,
Then listening to others did so,
And finally his own thinking how has the same result,
With much anticipation, he looks forward to whatever comes next.
A droll little artifice worked on man is that
While in captivity, the confined never know the correct spelling of, “Freedom.”
A man looked in the mirror and said:
“With me’s like me — who needs enemies!?”
….(pithy, though the barb may sound/
T’would serve better to seek a more appropriate target there for. ….[in fact, can you spell: “Ain’t none”!?])

94125-6
One man’s clinical homage
Something makes man want to change — life, something makes it hard to change — life.
On behalf of us all may I say — thank you, life — ever so much.

94125-7
One man decided that he could accept flaws in his car’s paint job as long as they came about naturally with age and wear;
His sister pondered how a
Similar situation
Might be in operation
Regarding how men determine which ideas that pass through their mind they find agreeable, and which they do not.

94125-8
The standard history of man lacks informative nourishment in that it reports solely on his un-elevated past condition;
The only history worthy of a more advanced person’s attention is that of man’s mystical aspects,
Which resides not in books, but in consciousness.

94125-9
Even though “Man” is a creature defined by his intellectual capacity life still gave him a body so that in times of stress and uncertainty he’d have something to hold on to —
Since most can’t do so intellectually.
There was once a band of neurons — I mean, men
Who gave thanks for the distinction between the impossible & the inoperable,

94125-10
The reason mystery schools always exist just beyond that next mountain is because — if a prisoner believes
That the key to his cell Is someplace else,
There’s no need to guard his door,
Once the dust and initial excitement of creation had settled down, and everyone had received their individual assignments, life allowed local conditions to choose its own name,
And after a quick survey of the upcoming, long range, job-at-hand, it selected as its operational moniker: efficient,
And as always,
An alert human could take a well-oiled lesson from his higher-up environment, in this instance by observing how much more capable is his own consciousness without the constant distraction of comment,
In a higher garden, once Adam could pronounce the word, “Nomenclature,” — god knocked his teeth out.
