Note by TK

When you have an understanding of the destination, what are you going to do until you get there?

The News

95036-1
The sequence of how things have progressed, as explained by dr. Enigma:
“Life starts out simple,
But as soon as men begin to think, life seems to become very complicated.
To stay sane and ordinary, they must never get over this notion.”
* * *

95036-2
Once, long, long, long – long ago,
Some men decided to leave the safety of their homeland
and sail off into the totally unknown,
And for some unrecorded reason,
There arose within some of the adventurers
The belief that a particular “Mental approach” was necessary
For a successful voyage,
And beyond that it came to be that two competing approaches were proffered,
Both attracting serious supporters,
The first one said that for such extraordinary expeditions,
Those involved must keep their attention under constant, conscious control,
While the alternative claimed that the individual’s attention had nothing to do
With whether such an undertaking succeed or not, and
That all that is required is that each person be on board, at their station,
Ready to-execute whatever-task may be assigned them,
For a considerable period, the theories of these two sailing schools
Persisted, side-by-side, with near equal numbers of proponents,
Until one day, someone pointed out that the characteristics of the
Latter approach to extraordinary adventuring
Were actually no more than those required for an ordinary, everyday existence
Judgement: when it comes to the big, final push,
In matters beyond the normal level of consciousness, it is: every sailor, engineer and pilot for himself.

95036-3
And now our: “Moral without a story”:
Everyone is lost — but only a few understand it.
…Not fear it! — not suspect it, but — understand it!
…And understand that, “Being lost” is simply today’s position, relative to the future.
* when your “Future is now” you can’t be misplaced. *
* * *

95036-4
The economics of one man’s attitude toward his mental activity is such that he says that every idea he considers from another
Just makes that much less time he has to think of his own.
* * *
One guy says that he ain’t shuttin’ up ’til everybody else does.

For the benefit of the simple, it’s been announced once again that if the parade itself did stop,
None of those presently riding floats will have anywhere to go.
“Papa, why do routine marchers always limit their cadence count to: ‘one, two — one, two — one two’?”
* * *

95036-5
To his great astonishment,
One man arrived at his typewriter one morning
To’ find the letter “F”  suddenly missing from his keyboard.-
This totally surprising turn so excited and animated him that he is now
Considering removing other letters ever day or so,
But is concerned over just’ where it will all end (!?!) ……
….Whether, (don’t you see), by his design or not.

Finding: the downside of depending. On life to furnish your enthusiasm, is that you have no choice.

Double-binding finding: it’s precisely situations like just like that
That make those dissatisfied with their
Normal state of understanding even more damn dissatisfied.

….(they will however, [if you will take note from my instant description], go to some effort not to say anything bad directly about life itself.
I mean, after-all — they have to live here too.
And plus, life has asked them not to set a bad example for civilians,
And children.)

95036-6
And now for you students of things psychological: today’s Freudian bra & panties
On this one world,
Those with the largest egos have the least reason.

95036-7
News flash: date line, earth: April 1995:
a small group of mystics, (well, at least one),
Has announced that the name, so long used to describe them has finally become so mis-used
That they are changing it to an unlisted one.

95036-8
Witnessing for the first time
The eruption of a volcano
Caused one man to say to himself: “My sentiments exactly!”

95036-9
In one city,
On the front of the building that housed life’s local representative,
Someone had painted the graffiti that said:
“If being sane and civilized
Means having to live in a vague, annoying daze,
Then I say — who needs it!?
Signed: you-really-think-I’m-dumb-enough-to-sign-my-name!?” (end of quote).
* * *
And back in our part of town,
That little fortune cookie bird who’s delivered to you
So many previous, meaningful messages,
Dropped by with this additional version of a continuing one: (quote):
“Only the mind can make man aware of how disturbing it is to have an intellect.’
…(and at the bottom, some unknown hand had added:
“Don’t say life ain’t never done nothin’ for you.”)
* * *

95036-10
The game — the limits:
All two-dimensional wisdom
In three-dimensional contexts is ultimately – meaningless.
That is at the heart of the sport —
So deep in fact, as to be normally unseeable.

95036-11
More items from our secret archives
After Adam & Eve developed the ability to think,
And thus began to conceive of themselves as having an individual “Psychology”, the first thing Adam said to Eve was:
“I think I have a psychological problem -!?!”
(is it any small-to-medium-wonder that some history’s got no chance of being remembered!?)
* * *

95036-12
Consciousness vis a vis the storage & reproduction of music:
If ordinary awareness “Listens to a phonograph record”
The expanded variety is able to remove it from the turntable, and examine the contents of both sides.
* * *
95036-13
In one kingdom,
When a man gets too old to work with metaphors, they put him to the simile mines.

95036-14
And now, (in addition to this being, double value coupon day),
“The reason more people are not interested in such as this clearly explained”:
Neural excitement is hard-d-d to come by!
…. Especially when,(somehow or other), you gotta help provide it.
….(but hey!- check out the special on corn flakes at isle 2.)

95036-15
…And now, in a possibly related story, this:
The reason that religions are more popular than mysticism is because most men would rather run from two devils than to
Chase after even one fairly uncertain god, (figuratively speaking of course)
“Dear daddy, is this why the audience for bad news continues to outweigh that for the alternative!?”
Topological sidebar: in a 3-d landscape,
Viewed with 2-dimensional intelligence, there is no such thing as an “Alternative”
That can be correct, or acceptable.

For the everyday-of mind,
Cliches & proverbial wisdom are like lines of verbal ancestry,

95036-16
Once Cain was able to afford his own place,
He went into town to check out one of the neat new condos,
And after putting the ole glad-hand on the lad,
The sales rep started off his pitch by telling him.
That he could live up on the higher floors,
Or down on the lower levels,
And just as Cain was about to ask, the salesman preempted him
By holding up a palm and saying:
“I know — you want to ask about the comparative prices of the two,
But you’ll be delighted to hear that they are both outrageous & intolerable,
And yet, dear boy — you gotta live somewhere!, now don’t cha!?”
And truth to tell, Cain was suddenly sorry he’d ever left home,
But a lot a good that does ya now! don’t cha know!?
(And a small aside to the simple slices of our audience:
Any good myth you hear that seems to end on a negative note — you mis-heared.)
* * *

95036-17
The physical dynamics of neural terpsichore:
Among the ordinary it takes at least two people to dance -and sometimes three — even a million.
Only a mystic can frolic alone.
* * *

95036-18
The difference between men and animals is that animals only have one home—- while men have several places they can stay.

95036-19
Although nothing unique to the world of man can be truly “Explained,” no one but the mystically-inclined seems to particularly care.
“You know”, said reality to Life,
“That right there is probably the hardest thing to ever explain to a human,” and Life thought:
“Why the hell would anyone ever want to explain it!?”
* * *

95036-20
A mystic is like a man trying to decipher a buried treasure map, regarding a treasure that is always yet to be buried.
* * *
Hey! – what do you call a man attempting to chase tomorrow in shoes made of today?
Hey! – what kinda guy are you to let the merely impossible stand in your way?
* * *

95036-21
Final fresh graphics regarding the game:
If you don’t know where you’re going and you don’t much care — you’re about normal,
But,
If you don’t don’t exactly know where you’re headed,
But know for sure that you’ve gotta go – and it still doesn’t matter, then it’s not so normal and ordinary,
* * *
Final pharmaceutical news:
Drugs are to the mind as food is to the body, and, secrets are to mystics as drugs are to the mind.

95036-22
Collective space flight & TKS:
The desire to ignite consciousness further is like the individual
Longing to separate from the mother ship.
