Summary

#1398 – 2/13/95:
Notes by TK

The ordinary survive solely on literal thinking with religion as collective metaphorical thinking but taken as literal by the ordinary. Metaphorical thought is not original in the sense it is based on the literal. ST/symbolic thought is not so based, i.e., literal AND other than literal.

The News

95016-1
When the day came, (as had long been expected),
That the people hung their gods —
Something that had not been expected was that the new ones, who arrived to replace the old ones,
Put the people immediately into debt for the burial expenses.
And so –on it goes, amongst the people,

95016-2
Any time you talk about ordinary men — they’ll take it as criticism.
…Course after hearin’ this you could still ask yourself: what does fly better and straighter at night
Than a rocket-powered bat with AWAC!?
* * *
Some find the justice-of-reality more acceptable than others, but one thing’s for point-blank-sure:
Reality finds itself to be: just-t-t right.
…Which of course just helps piss off those ordinary men even more!
“Mien got!, Herr Heimlich, is there no end to this!?
“I sincerely hope not,” replied Admiral Barnum on behalf of bailey and all his brothers.

95016-3
A group of people, seeking the enlightenment,
Once came together and established a school.
Based solely on the cessation of external stimuli,
Until one actually more-conscious came by and told them there is no such thing and the place blew up,
Scattering bits and pieces
Of whole lots of people,
(plus some of their personal belongings),
All over the area.

95016-4
When he would eat too much, one man could hear himself think.

95016-5
Dreams of physical & mental cooperation & their reality:
If the lion and lamb ever do lie down together, the whole jungle will shortly starve.

95016-6
As the horrible sight rode past, it sang:
“Whee, whee,
You can’t stop me,
I’m off on an endless,
Killing spree.”
And a man said: “Who was that awful figure?”,
And another replied: “That was death.”
“No,” he said, “Not him, that even uglier mother with him.” “Oh, that’s progress.”

95016-7
The great thing about dreams is just that!              That is, that they are that and if you’re ordinary, you won’t get it, (and thus they’ll-still-work-on-you but if you do see what I mean,
Then you can begin riding your own horse, past yourself.

95016-8
Aphorism update:
Those whom the body would distract, it first makes think.

95016-9
There is a little-known sector in the 3-d universe in charge of making allegories, which just barely make sense, make even less.

95016-10
The situation of how difficult it is for the mew to be accepted is exemplified by how much more popular mystical thinkers become after they have been dead for a while.

95016-11
In the back pages,
Among the 900 number ads for phone fantasies was one that said: “I’ll strip — you masturbate.”
And the man had to look back at the cover to be sure if he was holding a girlie magazine, or one of those manuals devoted to the improvement of one’s intelligence.

A man wrote to the advice doctor: “Dear doctor: go to fuckin’ hell!”
* * *

95016-12
There was once a man who fell into a deep, mythical sleep, from which he would periodically awaken for a moment and ask: “Am I asleep?”
And sleep would instantly assure him that he was not …And thus he could peacefully go back to sleep.

A truth in story-telling public notice:
The above tale is, (allegorically speaking), primarily composed of outdated bullshit.
** *
There is an obscure quadrant in the 3-d universe
Responsible for assigning expiration dates to all truths -…Especially those of the metaphorical flavor.
*   * *

95016-13
How to be ordinary -..And be considered so by your peers: tell everyone you meet that they’re wrong.

95016-14
The comparison counter is now open:
Those working to achieve a greater state of consciousness
Than the natural one to which they were born,
Are not unlike a man who acquires the ability to run a marathon on just his finger tips —
— spectators may certainly be impressed with the uniqueness of the talent, yet leave wondering: to what ultimate avail (!?!)
* * *
A man wrote the director of athletics: “Dear director: break a leg!
Break
Break two! —
Hell, break everybody’s!”

Final score: mental gymnastics is not a sport for am-e-teurs.

95016-15
One man,
When he would eat too much, could hear,
Within himself,
The allegories percolate.

95016-16
There was once a band of men who went out in pursuit of the elusive prize, and on the side of their car they painted a sign that read:
“We’re searching for the secret,”
And one day they passed a man who shouted out: ” I’ve found it,” and they tried to run him over.

95016-17
The importance of everyday life vis a vis the collective:
Everything is meaningless — (unless it’s meaningful to you,
And if anything out-there is,
You’re part of the crew.

95016-18
The distinction between those with actual potential and the mere “Wanna-be’s” can further be established by the division of those who do,
And those who do not, understand the four words: “Bad luck is genetic.”

95016-19
If you suspect that everything you read or hear might have a secret message – you could be right —
If you’re convinced, they do — you could be also.

Life “Plays no favorites” — ‘cept internal to itself.

95016-20
Once he quit reading, one man’s far-sightedness improved.
“Doctor, is there any way I could use that as regards the relationship between stupidity and thinking?” “Well, son, what do you think!?”
“I don’t know doctor, that’s why I asked you.”
Once he quit reading, one man’s far-sightedness improved greatly.

95016-21
The difference between the kind of life naturally attractive to neurons, and the one to hormones,
is reflected in the difference between a man who wants “everything just right,” and a man.

There is a shadowy corner in the 3-d universe whose job it is to,  well,
To sort of “Mix up” comparisons men may expect,

95016-22
Amongst ordinary, everyday, sane and rational people,
A “Happy mind” is one that is not beset by the unfamiliar.
…And a spokesperson for men’s bodies said:
“Yeah, why don’t you guys take a lesson from us!?”
..”Are you sure he was speaking for men’s bodies, and not the habit lobby!?”
“So what’s the difference!?”
“Yeah, I guess you got me there.”

95016-23
Local rule # 8:
When in doubt — ask a question, when for sure — shut up.

95016-24
In one mystical finishing school,
Once everyone had their graduate degrees — were enlightened and on their way out to dive back into the midst of everyday life,
The final reminder they were given was to, “Not be clever or cute,” which (not surprisingly), was left for last
Since it is one of the damndest.

But two categories of men
Take the idea of an expanded state of consciousness seriously: those who’ve had no personal experience thereof,
And those who have — but don’t know what to do with it.
…And the court jester said to the royal prince: “Well, that about covers that.”

95016-28
And now:
Some cemetery health news:
If you kick all the dirt off you, well – sure, you’ll be cold!

Familiarity doesn’t merely “Breed contempt”, but also brain maggots, and,
Peaceful,
Peaceful sleep.

95016-29
Helping the stupid,
Back to their feet – when they’ve tripped again, right next to you, has got to be,
One of the,
Dumbest things you can do.
Helping the stupid,
Back to their feet – when they’ve tripped again, right next to you, has got to be,
One of the – most
Dangerous things you can do.

There is, in fact,
No sequence or linearity in a 3-d universe —
Unless you think there is.

95016-30
The excavation of new neural finds & the limitations of ore distribution:
Even among mystics there is the danger of, “Over-working a mine.”
“Ah hah, professor Kincade, is that then the reason ’tis so common to hear of those more awakened, killing themselves over and over again every few years!?”
* * *

95016-31
Men continue to embrace the idea of heroic figures who are as
honest, decent and honorable in private as they are in public
For a reason so simple and obvious that I don’t have to tell you what it is.

95016-32
The closest thing there might be to an actual “Mystical group” would be some individual potential mystics hanging out together, who had no interest in being part of any group.

95016-33

Local conditions told a bunch a’guys on the corner:
“If life had a’wanted to be fair — it would’ve been fair,” …And a few there, still neurally active,
Knew — and were
The place where such theory and reality meet.
