Summary

#1368 – 11/30/1994
Notes by TK

“Secret knowledge” being non-existent is a perfect support of man’s imagination and drive toward same. The “way of poverty” is a poverty of thought, of consciousness, NOT possessions.

The News

94121-1
The enlightenment is a kind of dying -a condition wherein words lose all life.
The difference between a jackal and an awakened man is that a jackal still makes noise.
“Easter”, said the young monk, “It’s awfully quite in here!” “But not enough.”, he replied.
Mews of neural wheels: it is axles that squeak — not grease,
A man said: “If one more person tries to tell me how to awaken, I’ll scream!’ and replied: “I agree — now will you please shut up!”
Today’s fable: there was once a group of people who every week tuned in a tv show that talked about the kinds of things we cover here,
But it got to where they weren’t sure whether they were actually watching it, or were asleep and just dreaming they were.

94121 -2
What men normally call entertainment is primarily an electrical means to keep the mind from stumbling over the possibility that it is capable of more than being merely distracted.

94121-3
Talk: if your main subject is yourself, at least you’ll never bore the boring.

94121-4
What the ordinary call, °news,”
To the more enlightened, smells offensively bad,
Thus is-noted the routine neural reporting systems,
And why those more-conscious evade the hands of time and history.

94121-5
Warrior’s tip
When captured — deny everything.
Warrior’s super tip: don’t get captured.
Words will “Track you down”,
And sentences, “Stomp the stuffings out of you”.
If, “Only love can break a heart”, then only thoughts can destroy a mind.

94121-6
Tales from the mystical quest
One man just couldn’t shut up! —
Oh. He could — but he just couldn’t remember to.
The only difference between those who succeed in the pursuit of the awakening, and those who do not, is the matter of success.
…And a man said: “I knew that   ,I just temporarily forgot.”,
…Which can give rise to the query: what is the ultimate distinction!?
94121 -7
Life is responsible for man being alive —
Local conditions are responsible for him having consciousness -no one is responsible for what normally goes on therein.

94121-8
If you’ve just gotta talk this year, here’s the one movie you just gotta see: “No modifiers for us — we’re mystics.”

94121-9
Another page from man’s “Wish book” :
If the dreamed-of, extended state of consciousness could be “Thought about,” it could be thought into existence.

94121-10
The reason that men believe real mystical schools are always hidden is because they can never find one –
And the reason they can never find one is because the real ones are always on wheels.

94121 -1 1
It is a known fact that those who don’t know much tend to talk about themselves what is not recognized is the matter likewise, regarding their thinking.

94121-12
If there are identifiable human activities that specifically hinder one from realizing a higher level of individual consciousness,
And since most everyone continues their involvement therein,
Can you conceive it possible that they in fact have a knowledge of an extended state of neural awareness, and its costs,
And simply chose not to participate (!?!)
Being glue, you can slide through life — being grease, you cannot.

94121-13
More about mystical methods
An alert man is pleased to have a rash,
Since it saves him from having to go look for one – …And since everybody has one any way.

94121-14
Thought: the mind’s mugging of consciousness.

94121-15
Once upon a time a priceless item turned up missing at court,
And the prince said that he has seen it taken by the recluse who lived up on the mountain just outside the village,
And after being confronted with the regent’s accusation,
And offering not a word in defense – or even response,
The solitary one was pronounced guilty — with punishment decreed to be that from that day forward, he was to be shunned by all,
And that no one should ever speak to him again,
Many years later,
(after the prince had become king, and now lay on his-death bed),
He exonerated the recluse for the loss, & admitted his own responsibility therein and when he-on-the-mountain was told of this –he said nothing, and as he turned to walk away, someone cried out that after the original, unjust claim made against him, today’s news must surely be the best he’d ever heard
And still he said nothing,
But to himself weighed the latest to be of the same significance as the earlier.

94121-16
The great thing about being born with the hunger is that you’ve immediately got a hobby you can carry around with you for the rest of your life,
A man asked a librarian: “How much do books cost?”
And was told: “More than you want to pay.”
And replied: “Oh, I didn’t realize you knew what my interest is.”

94121-17
Although life is non-personal, the ordinary take it to be so.
Those-who-know let the whole matter go.

94121-18
Question: how to put a fish to sleep? Answer: make him think about water.

94121-19
The Awakened’s Profit & Loss report:
Anything you can lose — you’re thankful about.

94121-20
One man used to talk to himself — until his best friend died —
….Now he has no excuse.

94121 -21
Earth’s last great mystical master burned down his school, and ran off with his own head.

94121-22
The simple brag of sex, wealth and power, the more sophisticated brag of knowledge,
Those opened up to the secret no longer have anything to mouth off about

94121-23
Look, (ye earthlings), at the logic:
Without the mind, man would not know he was conscious,
But because of the mind, consciousness cannot expand as per its dreams, but further still: without the mind, consciousness has nowhere to go.
A man asked a mystic: “Can the mind actually be used in these efforts?” and he-more-knowing replied something to do with hardened dairy products.

94121-24
All great Sufis and Zen masters ultimately say: ‘   “God, I’m sick of Sufism and Zen!”

94121-25
A man asked a mystic: “Is all thought bad?” “No,”
“I already answered,” replied the mystic.
One man cut himself off at the knees–just above the eyes.
Neural sports news:
If you can’t understand the intrigue of nude skydiving, — you’ll never understand all this.

94121-25(b)
In truth there is no such thing as “Awakened man” but rather “Awakened perception” —
For no matter what happens,
A man is still a man —
What changes is consciousness.
It is those still-in-the-dark who worry over the precise use of words.

94121-26
“The enlightenment” – defined afresh:
The world according to nobody.
