Summary

#1330 – 09/02/1994:
Notes by TK
There is a difference between the attention of a cat vs. a dog. All man’s mystical attempts are a RE-focusing of attention and useless. The trick is to have attention of a cat, with the awareness of a man.

The News

94086- 1

The explorer down on the planet radioed back to the hovering mother ship: “I was going to tell you that everything here is coming apart, til I looked up in your direction, and now it appears that you are!”, and the commander of the ship was greatly bewildered inthat he was just preparing to send the exact same message to the explorer below, but with the positions and vantage points reversed.
One day a kid sat under a viaduct and thought: “What is the connection between: space flight & architecture?, between lamb chops & aluminum?, between elevators & eye glasses?, between mens’ brains & the stuff they handle?”, and suddenly! — a flaming rat fell squarely upon him, smothering out all such inquiries.

94086- 2

Once he truly, fully, totally and colpletely understood what mysticism is about, this one mystic then thought:
“A mystic’s best, ‘mystical days’ are always behind him.”
Civilization: the appearance of “Seriousness” where none before existed.
“Daddy, is this why history seems to be the resting place of all man’s more ‘important’ affairs!?”

94086- 3

One day one guy suddenly realized:   was more impressed with me when I was younger,

94086- 4

One man finally told his mind: “You take up too much space!”, and it replied: “It’s not me, it’s the stuff in me.” so he said: “Yeah, yeah! — and you also waste my time.”
Stand-by for countdown — sixty seconds to launch

94086-.5

Circus times update
Dogs are domesticated through fear, lions, similarly trained —
How’s by you!?

94086- 6

Helpful hint time
How can you tell you’re no longer a potential mystic? – you’re tired of trying to be one.

94086- 7

As they stood, confrontationally, on the plains of potential battle, local conditions said to the man:
“I don’t take prisoners, and I don’t take notes,”And the mortal asked: “Why tell me this?”,”Cause you look like the kind who’d curl up in a cell with a good book.”

Yes — look for it on your grocer’s shelf:

New!, bigger!, improved, and new, and bigger and more improved than ever!, the buggered box of brain bullets! — guaranteed to do what ever it is that you want them to do.

94086- 8

Defined again, from a more cosmological view
Civilization: the sole successful attempt in this solar system to make something out of nothing, and then make it become more important than what it was made of.
A viewer writes:
“Some times I think I’m right on the verge of understanding what you’re talking about, but usually, (just about then), my head begins a furious spin. I’m still not sure where this is headed, but – ‘thanks for the ride’ thus far.
Your pal al”, etc.

94086-•9

People talk about emotions in hopes that they’ll either: go away, or come to be.

94086-10

Men conceived of the idea of “Mental illness” shortly after inventing the notion of a mental,
Hey -7 “Fair’s fair”! — unless you’re the one whose life depends on knocking over all three bottles with one ball,
Okay — prayer: “Hey rube!”, for the rubes,

94086 -11

After the conclusion of his speech, someone in the audience asked him: “Will being more conscious make you happier in life?”, and he replied: “Can’t guarantee that.”,
Then someone else inquired: “So why should anyone try?”, and he replied: “Nor that either.”, and the crowd then seem satisfied.

94086-12

Question: of what mystery is a chessboard to the carpenter who carved it?! And of what puzzle should be the mind of a man once he recognizes its source!?
…(although local conditions did say I could continue talking about stuff like this, life reminded me that it didn’t want too many people taking it to heart — so, most of you — just play like you didn’t really understand what I said. Okay?

*   * * and now — some good news…For some of you
Once understanding begins to die, then it can become systimatized.

94086-13

People love to recieve advice,
Particularly if your predictions come true, at their expense. Thus do the hog prices  soar-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r.

94086-14

One day while sitting on the back steps talking, a father said to his son: “A further example of life’s optimism through man is society’s increasingly belief that anti-socal children can be rehabilitated, and should be treated differently than adult criminals

Despite all evidence to the contrary.”, and after the lad had pondered the full possibilities & significance of this, he replied: “If I’m understanding you aright,
The next thing you’ll be telling me is that here’s a gene responsible for making men civilized.”, to which the elder responded:
“No, there’re some things too blunt-&-point-blank for even a father to tell a son —
— some things you’ll have to discover for yourself.”

94086-15

What is considered “Art” among the collective would be better called: hobbles, or, soporifics.

94086-16

In the bowles and heart of the parade are always voices crying out: “Trip me!              —           blind me!”

Yet, on it goes a pace,
With even a few doing double time.

94086-17

The equation: big ego — little understanding,
According to the plumber’s union,
A man has a right to feel superior based only on his strength, while the philosopher’s society claims it to be his intelligence, „,let them duke it out, the equation:  big ego — little understanding,

94086-18

A longevity check, mentally speaking.
The way the simple can tellthey’re getting old is that
They become so bent over that they begin to step on their own private parts. …Remember — I said “Mentally” speaking.

94086-19

At first, one man learned a lot from watching his dog, then his cat,
Then he bought a mirror      and a hammer.

04086-20

Life in the mental lane
A cheap man may prove to be a happy man inthat he may be able to cheat death. …Remember — I said the, “Mental” lane.

94086-21

Pointing over to the city, one man so advised his son: “Many people live in the world of submarines — and they’re certainly not in the navy.”

And now, this:
One man thought:
“Though there are many definitions of a mystic, there could be but one for a, ‘successful mystic’, which would be: ‘one, (should it come to it), who could be satisfied to talk only to himself’.”

94086 -22

Tales from afar
In a show of solidarity in support of the local gods, the visiting explorer stood high atop-the city’s main temple, naked from the waist down, and deftly weilding his most private of parts, shouted to the crowd below: “I wave in. The wind for shivai…& the rest of them cats.”
The revered village story-teller revealed to the inquiring kid: “Once you get past the illusionary seriousness of life, and can think anything you want to, myth-making becomes a piece of cake.”
…Although the lad smiled his appreciation for the old man’s attention, and answer, truth-be-told, he was somewhat disappointed that he ended it with a cliche,
And with that — frank grimm grizzily kicked his brother hugh in theaballs, and said: “Get serious here!, or go write these things on your own!”

94086-23

In a game, though obvious attempt to help explain his own condition, one man declared: “From the neck up — we’re all nuts!”

94086-24

One kid told. His younger sister:
“I’ve decided it’s. Alright not to take life-seriously, cause if you don’t — life’ll do it for you. And she threw up on him,

94086-25

During a week-end, “Time out retreat”, the head monk confided to a young trainee: “One of the real sticky problems, (if I may call it that), of wanting to be a mystic is in wanting to make everyone else realize how dumb and one dimensional is their normal thinking

When they have absolutely no interest in realizing such a thing.” …(’twas probably a good thing that the youngster’s mother had sewn his returned address to his underwear.)

94086-26

After they discovered the sport the first man said: “Do you want me to tell you what it looks like?”, and the other replied: “You mean tell me what it is!?”, and the first man said: “No, tell you what it looks like         same thing, aren’t you from around here!?”

94086-27

Trying to be more conscious through control of your attention is like a river bed trying to direct the flow of its waters. …Sounds impossible!? — yeah!, for a river maybe!, but you’re supposed to be a “Man”! — more intelligent!, more resourceful!, and all that shit!

94086-28

A boy asked his father: “Why do men find it easier to write tragedies than comedies?”, and the elder replied: “At least your questions are getting better.”

94086 -29

The motto on one family’s coat-of-alarming arms read: “Just because you’re serious & sincere doesn’t mean you’re still not an idiot.”
One man’s consciousness looked at itself, and its ties to collective thought, — and thought:
“The rich hate the poor cause they got nothing left to steal.”
Depth-charger’s version:
Cows envy footballs cause they can fly.

94086-30

Never forgetting that the external totality of mans’ mental life is civilization — try this definition on for sizing:
Civilization: the wal-41art of. Mysticism.
…Or,(with a bend-to-the-bard), this one:
Civilization: attempted ado with nothing to do it with.

Queery: what’s the only way a mystic can be thrown out of work? By talking him self out of a job,
“Daddy, does that queery have any connection to the two definitions, you think?

94086-31

The paranormal normalized
Those whose own minds aren’t weird enough will go believe in ufo’s & stuff.

94086-32

An observer asks         “How come all mystics are ugly?”

Tonight’s second feature is entitled: “You’re wrong! – the dumb don’t die young”

94086-33

In attempting to elucidate on the nature of man’s mental world of civlization, and it’s connection to his other realms, one father put it to his son thusly: “Think about it like this: the mind is ‘serious’, and the body not.”,, and the lad protested: “But the body above all — is serious! —

It is the one responsible for keeping man physically alive!”,
And the old man waved away his argument:           “Yeah, but it don’t talk about it!’

94086-34

One man sends along his latest definition:
“City progress: making ever-increasingly-complex imaginary mountains out of non-existant, never-you-mind, mole hills.”

94086-35

One day, while they were all out at recess, the head monk asked the students: “What is the one distinguishing feature of a real mystic?”, and immediately gave them the answer:
“He never gets tired! —
— never gets weary of the mystical life.”
Later that afternoon, back in the classroom,
He gave them this new definitive information:
“Those who give up the mystical life were the original, ‘road kills’.”

94086-36

No one actually knows why they do anything,
And part of being civilized is to make up reasons.

94086-37

What passes for psychological insight amongst the collective is researchers discovering an increasing connection between fish and water.
One man cut so many words out of his dictionary that it went: “Ouch!”

94086-38

Legend on one world says that “After the flood”, (the verbal flood, that is), no modifiers survived,
“Daddy?…” — “No son, we can’t move there.”

*  * *

A certain gentleman one day asked his urologist: “Why aren’t there allegories for the body as well?”, and the doctor replied: “Here, pee is this.”

*   * *

A fist fight broke out between the king, the priest and the embalmer as to who got to say: “Don’t he look life-like!?”

* * *

An increasingly exasperated life finally said to one neural rebel: “Okay — I’ll shut up if you will!”

94086-39

The mystical experience, and transcendental understanding inherent in the private expansion of one’s own consciousness has been given many labels:
Waking up.
Being enlightened,
Returning to the source,
Discovering the secret,
But one group simply called it: moving on, while yet here.

94086-40

One guy decided that the trick would be to have the attention of a cat, with the awareness of man.
