The absolute difference between attempt/practice of the Mystical vs. the experience itself—e.g., meditation vs. satori. The ordinary mind makes no real distinction. There is a quantum gap and no causal connection between them. The practice carries its own pleasure. What’s given up for the experience itself: the ability to complain (and then some!). Man is the noise Life makes going through man. Man is deafened by the noise of his own chemistry. Consider the great opportunity you have to make large demands on yourself since J. makes so few.
The News
When they get to the city everyone finds a stream in their
backyard. Some soon begin to believe that it should be rerouted,
others think it in need of a serious cleanup, and still others
conclude that a noise abatement buffer should be build around
it. Then a few — a few find themselves holding the notion that
the stream’s flow, in fact, should be stopped. They each and
all, (to say the least), face a daunting task.
