Kyroot to :35. The Secondary Level World is the Primary Level World w/ words superimposed on it. Once a map is operational in the Secondary Level World, then an overlay is immediately required. The Primary Level World is too tight and inflexible to evolve. The equivalent of this exists at the Secondary Level World at a particular level. Words create “looseness” in the functioning of the Secondary Level World for the purpose of growth.
The News
For the revolutionist’s game: Loose questions — tight answers.
***
In a finite land, the “perfection” of anything is also its dismemberment.
***
Just before sunrise, after everyone discovered themselves squarely on the bus, and the doors firmly shut, the man behind the wheel turned to them and said, “This can prove to be a long journey, as long, in fact, as you can imagine it to be, and once we get started there are those among you who will begin to move up and down the aisle offering to provide travel instructions and motion remedies. I will be too involved driving this vehicle to ever address you so directly again, so just let me now offer you this tip for the journey: Either stay alert, or take a laxative.”
…..{…And a viewer notes: “Your longer stories seem to make more sense to me than your really short ones; is this because they’re more places for me to get lost in?”}
***
One king conceived of what he called, “Neural Anti-Hunting Trips,” on which he would take along with him his own already dead thoughts.
***
Lest you waste energy on foolish frustration, do note that a certain kind of freedom is necessary to even be captive in this life.
***
If a real person were ever going to write their autobiography, they should at least change all names, omit all dates, and re-arrange all events. …(And a fellow in back said, “Hey, that’s what I’ve done to my life! ….[Well, I’ve tried to!])
***
A chap on a street corner is presently insisting, “Man could make better use of his sense of smell if thoughts had a more distinct aroma.”
***
{When it came his turn to speak, he summarized the feelings of himself, if not many others, by telling the audience, “If the gods hand not wanted man to have erasers, they wouldn’t have arranged it so we could make mistakes.” (He received more applause than even did the waiters when they took away the Broccoli Surprise.)}
***
One ole man gave all of his offspring this social caution, “Remember and be alert in your dealings with others, for a man with problems can give you problems.” And one of his little ones said, “But Pa Pa, don’t many, many quite ordinary people have problems?” “Yes, my child,” he replied, “Yes indeed, and that’s exactly what I’m talking about.”
***
{Once they were rolling good, the driver of one bus threw the switch that allowed the windows to open, and said to the passengers, “One of the really neat things about sticking your head out and looking back where we’ve just been is that affects what you’ll see up ahead.” (And a man with a brown hat, in an aisle seat thought, “Ah HAH! — That just proves the validity of previous environmental impressions.” And it is to gain such benefits as this that life provides moveable windows.)}
***
{And from the mail bag cometh this written missile: “Dear Kyroot: Regarding something mentioned on your show several weeks back, the possibility that ‘roaches cause stupidity,’ well, if that were true, I’d like to ask the following: Would you need to be bitten by one? — Or, would you need to eat one? — Or, is it enough to just let them in your house?” Signed, “Interested.”}
***
So okay — over in this other reality, a local god said: “So okay — you can change you behavior, but not your thinking.”
…(So okay — end of story, you can go now.)
***
{…then Kyroot gave this, Neural Gardening Tip: No matter how exotic seem the flowers, they all grow from native soil.}
***
{…then Kyroot noted: A Dialogue: “LIFE taught man about fiction.” “You mean it held CLASSES?” “No — just existed.”}
***
His years of study seemed to culminate last Friday when the man wallowed in this thinking: “If you’re alive — you’re a hypocrite, and that’s ironic.” He paused and drank some buttermilk then suddenly jumped up and added, “Or — if you’re alive you’re ironic — and that’s hypocritical.” (Feeling scarce better for the effort, he began looking around in the icebox for some leftover biscuits.)
***
{One city announced: “Without some criticism — what’s the point in even talking!” — (It did this while the king was out of town.)}
***
Understanding some fresh data regarding the human nervous system, one man added a drummer to his neural band. …(A man in the audience thinks, “Rhythm has nothing to do with ‘thinking’!” And if he thinks so, ’tis adequate proof in his case that ’tis so. …[When it comes to “Life: The Booking Agent,” they don’t come any fairer.])
***
Although the whole vehicle seems to arrive everywhere at the same time, the guys in the back of the bus continue to get the crummiest jobs. (And one group of people shouts out, “Are you trying to talk about the thinking parts of our nervous system again, without us realizing it?!!”)
***
{…and Kyroot noted: It’s all-in-all, pretty tricky to ever get to be “somebody” in the city without acting like you know what you’re doing.}
…..{…and in this same regard, one man said, “Yes, and I can seem to fool almost everyone except my own mind,” and his own mind said, “So what’s so special about that?!!”}
***
{One ole sorehead grabbed his kid and said, “Hey, if you’re not gonna be nice to your own genes, who are you gonna be nice to?!!” And the son replied, “NOBODY!” (Thus concludes another satisfying episode of, “Life In The City Of Life.” Be sure and tune in again tomorrow whether you want to or not.)}
***
The fifth speaker on the schedule stood and delivered ’em the following: “The Premise: If you’re an artist and your work is cheap and derivative — do self-portraits. The premise’s Evil-Twin Stink-Bomb: You’re all a bunch of artists.”
***
For a revolutionist — in the secondary sense — no-defense is not simply the best defense — no-defense is the damn-near minimum requirement.
***
While lying down in a large cardboard box, one chap thought, “Most writing and common poverty have nothing in common… except having nothing.” (He fell asleep and dreamed of a place where wood chips could speak for themselves, and words existed before ink began calling the tunes.)
***
{The Landlord raps on the door to remind you of The Rule: If you ain’t lookin’ back, you ain’t payin’ the rent.}
***
On the bus-of-life, everybody needs some help; and if you think you don’t, life will arrange for some other passengers to annoy you enough to where you will.
***
A viewer writes: “In spite of all you have said, I still fail to see how life is continually growing and improving. I am overweight, in debt, and drink too much. What’da you say to that?!! P.S.: I also do not agree with your comments slanted against personal anecdotes and self-reference. Yours,” etc.
***
A good man in the heart of the bustling city decided, “I will think only when I am not hungry, horny or sleepy, and if I’m not hungry, horny or sleepy — I’ll make myself so.”
***
{…and Kyroot noted yet another, Annoying Law: If you’re “YOU” — the JOKE’S on you.}
***
{…and Kyroot related this little item: “Ah, such questions, my lord,” said the Court Philosopher, “Should we embrace the ideals of the east, or of the west? Or of the Red Forces, or of the Blue?” And the king replied, “Only those of the future, those of the future.”}
***
From a card table on the sidewalk near the university, one man is currently hawking, Metaphor Blenders. (Battery Pack Not Included.)
***
A sorehead in the Ole Soreheads’ public speaking area in city park proclaimed the following: “If a traitor is a man without a country, a critic is a man without a brain.” (He said this while all the extremely large fault-finders were out of town.)
***
{One guy mused, “Another really neat thing about riding a city bus is that no matter where you get off there’s never anybody worthwhile waiting for you.”}
***
One ole man squirrel told his kid, “Just because something doesn’t exist in an oak tree doesn’t mean it might not in a pine; but also remember that all of them reside in the same forest, and to speak of them on that level requires a re-thinking of the original idea.” …(There is a myth on one world that says the trees wonder what the birds think of them; and a fable on a sister planet that conveys the same general story, but in reverse.)
***
{One part of one guy’s neural city said: “There is a difference in being depressed and being dead — one is preferable.” …(The efficiency of giving urban-based people their choice of two possibilities is that they’ll take one of them.)}
***
One city guy, given to a certain, “Writing-down-and-collecting-of-stuff” activity said, “A man with enough gem clips can prove anything.” …(Of specific interest is why he would underline both the words “enough,” and “anything.”)
***
{…and Kyroot observed: Although it is a quite understandable mistake, many people who believe they hear the voices of kings and gods actually suffer from thyroid problems.
…(“Ah yes,” comforted one Head Physician, “but don’t you fret; if it weren’t this particular pleasing possibility, it would be another. Ah yes, indeed.”)}
…..{…A man with partially completed indoor plumbing has this to add: “What the hell good is any story if it doesn’t end up making fun of somebody?”}
***
{One of the speakers in city park yesterday became engaged in this scene, (he first declared): “Given enough time — ANYTHING is possible — EXCEPT for ‘Time to run out’.” And someone in the crowd shouted, “Well, that’s easy for you to say since it can’t be proven,” to which the speaker replied, “And believe me sir — you don’t want it to be.”}
***
To help pay his own way, one man attached a meter to his mind, but no matter what parts of town he cruises, no one wants to get in.
***
An another viewer treats us with this communique: “My second cousin says your show sometimes has a slogan — ‘Thinking Is Fun,’ and if this is so — I don’t LIKE it!… I’m SERIOUS — I don’t like it… And I never will. A Viewer.”
***
{In some city bus stations is this notice: “When vehicle is in motion — Hold On Tight! Even if it requires strangling your neighbor.”}
***
The Chief Inspector Of Flammables reports that the fire seemed to have started from an argument held by two men just behind the northeast corner of the building: “KINGS aren’t elected!” “In some places they are — they’re just called something else.” “Well if they’re CALLED something else, then they ARE something else, now aren’t they!” “Not necessarily” “What do you MEAN — ‘Not necessarily’?!! Every time I get you cornered in one of our discussions, you fall back on saying — ‘Not necessarily,’ and I finally, by damn, want to know what do you really MEAN by it!” (Shortly after that, says the Chief, the flames broke out.)
***
One guy had a brother-&-sister act — and he was an only child.
***
{…and then Uncle Kyroot told ’em: Once upon a fine time, when all of the little animals were busy in other parables, a man decided to sit down and “write a letter to his own brain.” Well, he did so, and sent it off, but within a few days it was returned, unopened, with a message on the envelope that said, “You should address me as your ‘MIND’ — NOT your ‘brain’.” And he decided not to even waste his TIME ever trying to correspond with his large intestines and related areas.}
***
It doesn’t cost a lot of time or money to enjoy those things life ordinarily has to offer man; it mainly requires that you just pay attention to pretense.
***
{On that auspicious date, forty-two days before the anniversary of his birth, he addressed his family: “The dread of certain things can be your protection against thereof.” And an aunt asked, “Don’t you mean that the ‘awareness’ of certain things can be your protection… etc.?” And he replied, “No, I’ll mean that NEXT year.” “Oh,” she replied.}
***
For Your Eyes, Ears and Cortex Only: One reality’s private motto was: “Freedom Through Derivation.”
***
{Proper revolutionist “poverty” is not in simply not having useless stuff, but in not even wanting it. (“Jeeze,” said Fred Everybody, “That’s asking a lot!”)}
***
To be in a place of being “ashamed” you had to first get on the Number Dumb bus.
***
{Question: What kind of guy believes that, “Living by no particular rules” means doing things that would hurt you? Answer: An everyday kind of guy.}
***
Back manning his Whisper Stand in the alley, the Whisper Man shished this to passers-by: Fiction — especially science-fiction — arises from some of the cows beginning to pick up the scent of barbed wire just over the horizon. Shish-shish.”
***
{Addressing the conclave of historians the speaker proclaimed, “You have the insight of inchworms!”, and they bowed in gratitude.}
***
{…and to an attentive, in-town audience one of Kyroot’s “stand-ins” said: “When you live in the city it’s hard not to be serious. There! — It’s admitted! — Does everyone feel better?”}
***
{When one local reality was thanked for providing the contradicting, secondary, thinking-cum-breathing machinery, it said, “Ah, shucks, t’weren’t nothin’,” when indeed — ’twere every thing.}
***
Only thinking that is beyond the Time-A-Terrium can make sense of every thing. …(and K-man continued: Yeah, I know, some of you believe this, and others of you don’t; that’s why there are “some of you,” and “others of you.” …[Meanwhile, in the very midst of mighty possibilities, one man’s mind suddenly flew into a million pieces — but you think he noticed?!!])
***
Near Seventeenth Street a man stopped his car, rolled down the window and said, “Do you find any significance in how close the words ‘certain’ and ‘cretin’ are?”
***
{And this from someone who has been watching these programs: “Dear Folks: I would like to have clarification on several points. First: Is, “Riding the bus” in some way comparable to a man’s ordinary mental process, and…” — Hey, hold it you guys, don’t read that letter on the air.}
***
{Today’s overheard conversation: First voice says: “One man could think up thoughts just as fast as he could think.” To which the second voice replied: “Don’t you mean he could think up thoughts just as fast as he could talk?” And the first voice says: “What are you? — deaf too?!!”}
***
One older synaptic concourse told a younger intersection, “A polite idiot can kill you just as quick as a rude one.”
***
One man had a phone, but it did him no good — he had no ears; one man had a book, but it did him no good — he had no eyes; one man had a brain, but…
…..{…a chap who resides in another place wishes to note that, “Abrupt parables went out with knee breeches and the second ice age.”}
***
A young prince, admiring himself in the mirror thought, “If the gods didn’t WANT me to ostentatious, I’m sure they wouldn’t have GIVEN me such a ‘tatious’ to begin with.” (Strut, strut; preen, preen.) And down in the village, after having heard fourteen pickup trucks’ full of stories like this one, the smithy’s son said, “When I grow up, I want to be a handsome young prince.” And his old man struck him smartly with a still simmering angle iron, while noting, “Why we should all fall down on our knees and give thanks to the heavens if a plain little snot like you is even ALLOWED to grow up.” (Which once again reveals the difference in intelligence between a cool reflective device and searing hot metal.)
***
Having adjusted himself relatively well to city life, one man observed, “If you stand in just the right spot, sometimes the light will hit you in such a way that you almost look like you know where you are.”
***
In the park, a man dressed in a somewhat unusual suit climbed into a large tree, and from an upper limb announced, “Things can be as mystical as you want ’em to be.” (He then clucked — or perhaps, tweaked — several surprising sounds and flew away.)
***
As he then began to individually “RE-orient” himself on the vehicle, this one man suddenly thought, “Well, if I can’t go ‘back,’ and what I now seek is NOT simply ‘up ahead’ — then which way DO I — OH!! — I see!”
***
{…Then Kyroot noted some of the physics of intellectual gastronomy: All rotten ideas started out as something nice that someone originally purchased at the market; and all of the ones thrown away end up re-wrapped, back on the shelves.}
***
Two gods were talking and one of them said, “I heard a creature say, ‘You can’t please everybody’.” And the other one snorted, “And they wonder where the new fools are coming from!”
***
Early one morning, while the king was still in bed, hiding under the covers, he thought: “If this WAS all a joke — surely I’D know about it!… WOULDN’T I?!!” …(And of course when you’re king — there’s no one else there to answer. …[And of “double-course” that’s why some people have absolutely NO INTEREST in ever ascending to the throne. …(One chap looked around at himself inside and announced, “Hey — don’t leave ME in here alone with him!”)])
***
In contradistinction to the collective’s myths and legends, the only “Tradition” of a revolutionist IS his own individual life.
***
One guy’s partner noted that he didn’t ever seem very impressed with others — even celebrities, and the guy replied, “Well, yeah, and in all humility I gotta say that after knowing me, humanity as a whole just ain’t that big a deal.” (His inner-bud nodded as though he knew what the guy meant — and was frightened that he actually might!)
…..{…Insider’s Side-note: Well… now that you brought up the subject — Yes! Everybody DOES have a “Faithful inner companion” named “Wild Bill Obnoxious II.”}
***
{And a viewer writes: “Am I correct in assuming that what you’re inferring is that if a real revolutionist did ever knowingly ride a bus, he’d wear a disguise or something?”}
***
On his own time one guy wondered: “If man is just as smart as he should be — then just how smart should he be?” (Note: He thought about this once! — and only once.)
***
Creatures who think themselves captive are not fully so.
***
An intellectual bully is the only kind; a primary one would simply be the rightful leader-of-the-pack.
***
{And then there was this other chap who concluded: “A real thinker doesn’t need his ideas validated…. unless, of course, it’s one of those lots where the rates go way up after 6 p.m.”}
***
Other than his body, a revolutionist only has one thing worth protecting.
***
{…and as “comfort food” Kyroot offered this morsel: If you’re working with ordinary intelligence, you don’t actually know enough about what’s really going on to be justifiably concerned.}
***
Once man could run by one map, an over-lay was required.
***
And as in our last program, a certain viewer writes: “I still say that you take an improper stance toward the personal anecdote, even though you failed to give me a response to my previous communique.” (…and Kyroot said: Hey — “respond” THIS, you repetitive muther-viewer!)
***
In one orderly progressing city a man proposed that they, “Deregulate thinking”: They had not sufficient punishments on the books to deal with him properly.
***
The man who was earlier standing by the shadows said to remind you that, “Only by looking back can you be serious.”
***
As he sat in his garage pondering yet another of the seemingly endless, viscid little problems life left in his driveway, one man concluded, “There are no shocks available in this locality strong enough to keep you from intellectually ‘bottoming-out’ on these kinds of finite questions.” …(So as to keep the day from being a TOTAL waste of the public’s time, he spit-shined a muffler.)
***
{And someone “out there” states quite clearly: “If you do just one more about buses — or, god forbid, go out with one, I’ll never watch your program again — ever! …(Plus, I never cared that much for cooking shows to begin with.) Yours,” etc.}
***
Without words, things are too confined.
***
As “word spread” among the troops, more and more of them realized that they could speak. And the more of them that could speak, the more they looked for a leader, and once a leader came forth, one of his first acts was to announce certain restrictions on speech. (This is an underground, Future/Now, revolutionist lesson in neural history. And if any hear it as a mere example of irony — you’re in the wrong classroom.)
…..{Every vehicle actually going anywhere will always state doubts that it can do so.}
…..{…Spotter’s Tip: A vehicle is just a system in sheet metal.}
***
Without the smell of the soil, flowers have no aroma.
***
When asked to give an explanation of what he was about to do, one man said: “It’s about all I can do to do what I do without having to describe it.”
***
