Kyroot to :15. If chimps did acquire unnatural, abstract language skills in laboratory experimentation, note that it would be absolutely useless to them, 1) away from the instructional context (laboratory); and 2) away from the instructing scientists. Connect to: man’s intellect looks upon itself as having taught itself; thus its knowledge is useless outside that operational context.
Consider that an acquired new ability might be superior to a natural one. Consider: only an unnatural, acquired new ability even qualifies for talent worthy of cultivation (by a Real Revolutionist).
Conclusions would seem to be success for the mind. But it is only the lack of finality, conclusiveness, that keeps men driving toward success. The linear mind vs. the “spiraling Klein [bottle] mind”. The success of such a mind is non-conclusion. The Real Revolutionist has no intention in his thinking; that is success for the Real Revolutionist.
The News
In that curious way that events have of becoming eventful,
this chap, who is said to be famous somewhere, for something,
wrote a Letter To The Editor of a certain journal in which he
stated, “Any problem that can be solved through mathematics is
not much of a bloody-day problem.” And then less than three
months later submitted another letter saying he now realized that
the exact opposite was correct. …(And while the publication
has no “Letters To The Editor” section, this in no wise detracts
from the irrelevancy of his efforts.)

A recent rumor in one reality has it that the last scheduled
God Conference had to be canceled due to a lack of irony.
* * *
All prophets of doom will be right once in their life.
(File under “Inevitable.”)
* * *
I met a man near a shoe shop who says he’s so given to
making physical faux pases that even towards himself he
sometimes thinks his own body language is speaking in a foreign
tongue.
* * *
Holding himself at gun point, one fellow forced the
following statement: “Behind my flimsy and transparent style,
squarely stands my spurious substance — so there!”
* * *
There is a land, uncharted on all ordinary maps of
acts-&-facts, wherein the king worships and adores the people; he
lives to serve the submissive. …(While dreams won’t take you
there, it is only through such that history has made any note
thereof.)
* * *
“Focus-up over here and remember, my boy,” said his ole man,
“no one who came before you knew as much as you do — (and, if I
may continue) if what I’ve said is not true, then shame, shame,
shame on you.”

process thusly: Use up-to-date statistics to plot the system’s
construction; then, make all needed modifications to ensure the
optimum, immediate results; then, squeeze the system until it
bursts and showers you with profits, benefits or whatever else
you want.
* * *
Still clutching the tattered Ole Sorehead’s banner, he
loudly declaimed that the intellect of intellectual people was
obscenely overrated.
* * *
A guy who watches our show (but asks not to be called “a
viewer”) writes in to say that he bets we can’t guess what he’s
going to write in to say.
* * *
About twenty years before he figured he’d die, this one man
wrote, wired, phoned and faxed everyone he’d ever met or been
related to, offering the same message. It said: “I hereby
denounce and refute any sort of guy I may have ever told you I
was.”
* * *
In a subversive sense, if you know where your thinking’s
gonna lead, it’s leading nowhere.
* * *
To the War & Peace Conference one state sent two
representatives: One was their normal ambassador, the other, a
figure no one could see.
* * *
Due to the periodic rise in the strength of the fact that
says, “You are what you eat,” this one reality decided to have
“Special Price Days” at its Stupidity Cafeteria, but it turned
out to be unnecessary.
* * *
And in the midst of his rants and pants, the City Priest
proclaimed, “No, no, my friends, heaven will not be a beauty
contest,” and thirty-eight people left in a huff.
* * *
lot they know, right? Right! (I mean, if they did know
anything, they wouldn’t be the people, now would they?)
* * *
Whenever he didn’t know what to do, one guy would faithfully
call his mama, ’cause she didn’t know what to do either.
* * *
In some areas of the city, if you get real nervous and
upset, some people’ll think you know what you’re doing.
* * *
One way, in case you wanted to know, to tell trinkets from
art is that no one receives as much pleasure from art as does its
creator. …(It’s not that the delight of the artist is just
more than that of an audience — his is in a whole other world.)
* * *
There was this one family who believed they were direct
descendants of god. (And I trust you won’t reveal your ignorance
by smirking when I tell you that they had no trouble getting
others to believe it also.)
* * *
Another man who’s been seeing these programs says he now’s
afraid to “tell what kinda guy he is” for fear he might become
so.
* * *
One ole guy rented out his mind; they never returned it; he
didn’t care; he hardly noticed.
* * *
Even around a three-D reality there are places where
Acts-&-Facts meet, but you don’t wanna be there accidentally,
’cause then the word collide becomes more appropriate than
meet.
* * *
(I guess enough time has elapsed to update this recent one):
If you wait for someone else’s ideas to tell your ideas that
they’re history — they’re history!

own partner that he decided to confide in him: “Look, if you
understand the city well enough to be goofy, then the trick is to
get everybody else around you to take it seriously.” …(He
later wondered if he should’ve saved this info to start his own
religion.)
* * *
The Secret Talisman in the Great Universe Regent’s School
contains but one short final instruction: “Once the king can
count to two — leave him alone.”
* * *
Fairy Tales For The Fairly Tolerant: Once upon a time,
Once-Upon-A-Times came in fewer — not more — flavors.
* * *
Even before he was sure what was going to happen, this one
guy’d always say, “Boy, I hate this kinda shit,” and, boy, was he
seldom wrong.
* * *
There was once a land where the king established a new court
position, The Minister In Charge Of Thinking Up New Ministries,
and this new official’s first brainstorm was to propose the
office of The Anti-Minister Of Thinking Up New Ministries,
which really got things off to a good start.
* * *
The hotly debated topic in one guy’s brain — I mean in one
political network — is whether one’s constituents can be one’s
peers. …(If so, the forecast would call for sure cerebral
confusion in certain neural districts.)
* * *
In that great area of advice and kids & ole men, one
elder had this to say to his underpinnings — I mean, underling:
“Son, when it comes to advice, note, if you know what’s going on,
you don’t need advice.” …(And over on Sound Stage Seven, a
voice said, “If that ain’t a wrap, then teamsters wear ties,
even when they ain’t on trial.”)
* * *
In the unbridled exuberance reflective of his own
understanding of life, this one chap would be often heard to say,
“Hey! — it’s six of one and seven or five of the other — Hey!”
* * *
In a fit of what their subsequent generations came to refer
to as “insightful spite,” this one distant race declared, “There
is no joy save freedom from joy.” …(Has anyone checked today’s
odds regarding the possibility of this game’s completion?)
* * *
(Another overheard conversational fragment): First frag
says, “What’s the world’s most useless worry?” and the second one
questioningly replies, “Worrying about not knowing what you’re
doing?” and the first one says, “Close enough, Bunky — close
e-nough.”
* * *
No matter what you do over in the city, you can never be as
famous alive as otherwise.
* * *
The trick question in one kingdom’s Neural Lottery was:
“Does it take less brains to be a warrior than it does courage to
be a thinker?”
* * *
Man’s brain is the mainspring in the clock of time.
* * *
This one king used to pay wandering philosophers to come
into court and sit around telling him witty proverbs and
challenging ideas just so he could later have them shot.
* * *
Some things are too precious to talk about — but no one
knows what they are.
* * *
Eschewing the word “advice,” one ole man told his kid he was
gonna simply give him some Words To Live And Thrive By, which
were: “Son, a short-fall is just a long-fall turned inside out.”
…(This information proved so profitable to the younger that
he lived to be damn-near seven years old.)
* * *
Progress can occur even when you back’s turned, but men are
then inclined to call it something else.
* * *
says that the shows of the last several weeks have brought him to
the conclusion that “Facts is some serious shit — if you take
’em that way.” (And he further notes he’s pretty well convinced
that you’re supposed to “Take ’em that way.”)
* * *
One man lived so close to the cutting edge that they raised
his property taxes daily.
* * *
Neurologically (or perhaps, politically) speaking: Only the
king can say, “The check’s in the mail,” and keep a straight
face. …Oh, I don’t mean his own, ’cause he can smile while
saying it, but by force of his position he can keep your face
straight as you stand and gravely accept this baseless, royal
canard.
* * *
This one god admitted that he was “frankly surprised” at how
long it took his talking creatures to figure out that part of
their natural responsibility was to irritate each other.
* * *
Cheer up! If you’ve been born, the worst is already behind
you.
* * *
Over in a different place that deals in a different justice,
this one man worked for his muscles, while everyone else had to
be born with them.
