Paper to :06. When religion becomes “serious” it must proclaim its exclusivity or else be impotent; it will not survive, prosper or even be remembered if it should fail anyway. The efficiency of this for Life lies in its precluding access to the infinitely adjacent. The claim or implication of exclusivity, necessary for survival and growth, when it is lacking in a premise, i.e., a “point”, makes for an incomplete energy exchange useless to Life. It would be an interruption in Life’s mortal food chain. The noncritical are non-participatory, non-responsive in the chain.
It is only the most dedicated expert who will offer any cure-all for City ills. To be an expert in any Secondary Level affair only requires being well versed in the Secondary Level aspects of that particular field; it is self-referential, and thus ignorance.
For the Real Revolutionist to pursue ordinary expertise is to raise the useless to a new level of futility.
All institution-ships are sinking from the moment of their launch (claim of exclusivity). Men tie themselves to the mast in the name of safety and security; they have no other choice.
Seriousness vs. the potentially useful. Example of critic elevating an otherwise inconsequential rock band to a serious level by pointing out the “sadness” at the core of their campy lyrics Thus he becomes an apologist cum critic. In view of the uniform-dress of all serious institutions (i.e., religion, military, legal etc.), it almost seems to be necessary to dress funny to be serious, which acts as compensation for knowing nothing; another example of Life’s sense of humor?
Re: the essential vs. the entertaining and which This Thing might be “essential entertainment”.
1:03 Epilogue: A method: when something J. says strikes particularly, literally repeat it to yourself internally at least once. Like shooting yourself again with a .357, not a .22 caliber (when it is not literally, exactly repeated as originally said).
More “and then there was this guy…” to end at 1:21.
