No system can adequately perceive/describe itself at its own level. The circular human NS: Descartes famous dictum can’t be distinguished from “I am therefore I think” as equally valid. Everyone has a 3-d perception of a 3-d world but it is not taken into account. Model of “stool” used to demonstrate “meaningful” (impulse vs. resistance) aspects of anything vs. irrelevant aspect. Nothing moves until shift occurs whereby the energy from the irrelevant aspect is drawn into the meaningful aspects.
But ordinary intelligence cannot see this shift, cannot see new info, only different info because it cannot use new info. E.g., the light bulb invention was not new—just different use of existing technology: a closed-loop process. People know this in a sense, and ideas of gods, etc. are the attempt to locate new stable, cause-giving info outside the loop. Ritual also has a flavor of stability, a reflection of whatever is outside the closed-loop maelstrom. Ritual is fear and ignorance in action, a literal demonstration.
People’s ideas and talk of change is always of a lower order change—physical or emotional—never of an intellectual change. It is only those levels that can be verified by ordinary intelligence because they are immediate and overt. YC knowledge/change is much less tangible and certain. YC level deals in new info—not the merely different, reformed, altered info of the RC and BC level. The more complex can absorb stress much more readily than the more simplistic.
Bureaucracy is a sign of the budding good health of any system’s immunity system or factor. Consider the internal application to a RR. Make your system more complex; insulation from stress. TT is a form of enriching yourself. All ordinary institutions purport to enhance complexity while actually reducing it—i.e., promoting forms of ritual.
This amounts to Life offering the ill-timed (too simplistic) to the ill-prepared (the ordinarily complex). Life also presents new info, the too-complex (TT), but it can’t be absorbed by the ordinary and is thus taken merely as different info (3-d limited version). Life drives men to look to the past for perfection and knowledge for the future. It drives men away from uncertainty while immersing them in it. Every individual’s Inner Dialogue sounds the same as everybody else’s; it is Life talking to their NS. [Diagram#?]
And Kyroot Said…
There’s this certain game that’s totally unknown to the
city, I call it: The Less You Say, The Less You Pay.
***
When it comes to matters more important and complex than
mere fiscal ones, remember this approach: When they present the
check, try and leave town…(not alone, of course, take the bill
with you).
***
One guy’s pet confides, “No matter any other drawbacks, one
good thing about being a dog is that you don’t have to practice
at it.”
***
Sometimes enough has been said when someone first says,
“Enough’s been said.”
***
All cliches can work both ways.
***
In the city are many signs and arrows saying, “One Flight
Up,” and one guy mused, “Most people here ain’t GOT one flight
up.”
***
An interviewer asks a guy, “What’s been the most difficult
aspect of your life?”, and guy sez, “You mean up to this point?”,
and interviewer says, “Yes.” Guy says, “Getting up TO this
point.”
***
People only talk so much because they have to.
***
Never answer a question that someone really wants you to.
***
No one’s cup REALLY runneth over, (if you doubt this just
ask for their spillage).
***
If it weren’t FOR talk, most people’s brains would be even
MORE underemployed.
***
Almost every situation can turn out “OK” if you don’t care
how most situations turn out.
***
It is at your own peril that you forget that all maps are ad
hoc.
***
There’s this one old dude with a linoleum mustache who may
live near Buenos Aires who sez that no matter what they’re
called, or how they’re performed, all dances throughout the world
are just crude variations of the tango, and he adds that HE’S not
fooled for a moment.
***
Even though you may not be so-called “native Americans” I
can plainly see that you’re all still under the direction of Ole
Chief Two Eyes.
***
When it comes to everything else, there’s more TO it than
that.
***
To fully grasp court affairs, you must see that the
messenger IS the news.
***
Even though your mother told you not to keep making ugly
faces ’cause it could get stuck like that and you found out that
wasn’t so, don’t be so sure regarding uncomely thoughts.
***
Surface noise is not just a problem with cheaply pressed
phonograph records.
***
In the city, if they ask you to take a urine test, tell ’em
you’ll go ’em one better… and Kyroot added: As they say, god
loves a cheerful giver.
