Notes by WB

Behind all scenes is profit party, it always wins, cannot be seen, characters never run for office, cold passion. Inside Struggle for Control is illusion–no such thing as some profit, they always profit. Ordinary consciousness takes in all events as local yet are universal. Nervous system processes events personally (‘I’ centered). “I never did trust the Russians.” Too little active loyal opposition inside–your ‘I’ gives local opinion only for its headlines.

As New Intelligence increases, memory decreases.
Ability not to look at a wreck (or memory) is same as ability to ‘look around.’
Re wasting time: None of us understand this yet. If activities related to This Thing are not done properly or completely, it is an insult to time–not just a waste of time.
RR knows there is such a thing as personal time–not clock time. Time inside that is piece of Life. Don’t waste it.
Re public efforts–if we promote something and public doesn’t show up as intended it is damage to us..Some success is failure.

And Kyroot Said…

If it goes in one ear and out the other, you got one too
many ears.

***

If you do have to hang around in the City, at least keep
this in mind, “Don’t hang around in the City.”

***

The tromp l’oeil world of the mind again carried to its
deserved limit: A Man is given the job of counting the number of
automobiles entering a parking lot since it should legally
accommodate only fifty, and he leaves after getting to thirty,
figuring, “It’s been correct so far, and probably would be on up
to fifty.” Adios, small details.

***

Playing in a latin band is no guarantee you’ll speak
Spanish.

***

In the midst of a not-feeling-so-hot spell, a traveler
finally concluded, via self-diagnosis, “Ah, I guess I’m just home
sick”, but then realized, “Can’t be, I don’t even HAVE a sick.”

***

Hey, there’s no need to come in out of the rain; it doesn’t
do so for you.

***

Heard about this one ole dude who was so sharp he could
think “right off the top of his head”.

***

A Real Revolutionist might think, “I’d like to stick around
longer, but I don’t.”

***

It’s not only more fun than they imagine, it’s more fun than
YOU imagine. (Imagine that.)

***

The best thing you can do for most people is don’t.

***
Remember, weekend warriors: In someone else’s game your
scores never count as much as theirs. And, oh yeah, ALL games
are someone else’s.

***

For a Revolutionist, the fastest train running hasn’t ever
left yet.

***

This fleshy sort of City father noted to his anxious son,
“Look, if I’ve told you ONCE, I’ve already lied to you.”

***

“Hey, let that be a lesson to you.” “What?” “That’s just
the point.”

***

Just remember this: When it’s 4 o’clock HERE, it’s 5
o’clock later. (Disregard at your peril.)

***

The only way most People in the City can tell it they’re
“getting anywhere” is that they’re still breathing.

***

Be proud, Be brave; Don’t be a sloven knave. Stand right up
and say, “I’m not me, and I didn’t do it.”

***

There was this one guy who, whenever he would start to
talk to himself, would say, “Look, I can’t talk just now.”

Once you are a full fledged Trooper, and totally unemployed,
at least you can’t be fired.

THE PROFIT PARTY, LOCAL NEWS, AND WASTING TIME

Document: 420,  November 18, 1988

There is behind all scenes — all scenes — the Profit Party. The Profit party is THE power, and it does not care what visible partisans are elected. It doesn’t matter who wins in the world because the Profit Party always wins. Ignore any ordinary conspiracy notions you may have, and consider our country. There seems to be a quite passionate political struggle going on, but the Profit Party does not care whether the Republicans or Democrats are in office. It is the same in other parts of the world: the Profit Party is always there, and cannot be contested. Because the Democrats and Republicans — and the Labor Party and the Conservative Party — cannot see the Profit Party.

(As an aside: periodically someone does get a glimpse of the situation. It’s like part of a meal that almost comes up: they cough it back down and forget about it. They are out wheeling and dealing for power and it just strikes them: “We’re all dressed up and we are playing on a stage…I’m still back in Kindergarten, except I can’t tell where the teacher is anymore…I’m not in charge. There’s someone letting me play like I’m in charge.” I do not mean that there is any more awareness of the real situation at their level than there is at your level. Because people in the City believe they are in charge.)

The Profit Party does not care who wins because the Profit Party always wins. Does that sound to any of you to be a whole lot like Life? Does it even, perhaps, sound a wee bit like an Intelligent Revolutionist?

Do you see any connection between this and what I have said previously — that no power goes uncontested, and if it does, that is a sure sign of decay and stagnation? There seems to be a guiding power in humans that does not exist in trees and worms (at least it says so). And that power is not uncontested. Everyone feels as though there is a struggle going on inside them. Those who are really turned inside-out believe that they are inside a struggle. There is nevertheless, behind all scenes, the Profit Party. The struggle for control inside you goes on — but that is child’s play. It is an illusion. In the City it’s the only illusion they’ve got, the only thing they can see. The Profit Party does not care who wins. It’s got all parties’ peckers in its pocket. I will point out that Life also does not care who seems to be in charge on this planet. No matter who is up today and down tomorrow, Life always wins.

I am not inferring that an Intelligent Revolutionist “does not care.” But if you had an awareness that the Profit Party is actually in continual control of what seems to be the struggles in you — sometimes you’re “good,” and other times your “evil invisible twin” takes over — you would see those struggles in a different light. What if you understood that there is cold passion behind all apparent passionate power struggles? Do you think the Profit Party cares if the Huns or the Romans are in charge? The Profit Party always makes a profit. For those who know what they are doing, it doesn’t matter if the price of gold goes up or goes down — they always profit. There is no such thing, at that level, as “some success.” Some profit is no profit. “Some profit” means that you will take some loss. The Profit Party never loses. Never. Sometimes the apparent change of power at the 3-D level insures profit, and sometimes it doesn’t. And when it doesn’t…well, believe it or not, elections get fixed. There are ways, believe this or not, that a coup can be rigged. And a coup can be unrigged. The Profit Party does not allow things to happen that would take away their profit. (And I wouldn’t go around talking about the Profit Party if I were you. You could suffer a real loss.)

Let me ask you this: which would be the most useful/dangerous — local coverage of international events, or vice versa? News is such a commercial item at the present time that local TV outlets are making an attempt to present international news via their own local coverage. The large organizations, such as UPI and AP, attempt to “get even,” so to speak, by giving some semblance of local coverage through their international network. Let me point out to you that ordinary consciousness takes in all information as though it were local (read personal). It is local coverage of international events, because everything that happens is an international event. A .paperson’s information-processing then becomes a local version. This results in several things.

One is that your “slant” on the “news” is always provincial. That is, the only thing that is of interest to you is what’s happening in your own back yard. Two guys at a bar are discussing world events. The first guy brings up the activities of a large foreign power in the Middle East and the ramifications thereof, and the second guy says, “I never did trust those Russkies.” That’s his local coverage of the event.

Also, local coverage is always chauvinistic. Chauvinism is excessive devotion to one idea or cause. The cause in local reporting is to make everything fit into a local viewpoint, to make it palatable. The people in Nose Hair, New York are not interested in complex power plays on the other side of the globe. So a local reporter has to appeal to their provincialism and chauvinism in order to sell the news. The people of Nose Hair have to be shown that a cause is at stake. For instance, “Freedom.” “Freedom is being threatened by these events. This could affect us.” You know what your own back yard is, don’t you? It’s your own brain. Local coverage of international events is always “I” centered. There is too much defense of the crown, and too little Loyal Opposition inside of you. An international event is anything happening outside the boundaries of your “state.” Ordinary intelligence is like a neophyte reporter putting international news into a form digestible to the provincial folks of Nose Hair, New York. What does it take for ordinary intelligence to be interested in anything? An appeal to its provincialism and chauvinism. Then, the news becomes important stuff. And thus, what do people learn in the City? Nothing.

Local reporting results in a continuing, overbearing, and off-balance defense of the throne. And it doesn’t matter who is temporarily in power, even if it’s only for the next five minutes. It is too likely that your power structure is going to continue. Local coverage helps assure that. The local “slant” is always in the hands of whoever is apparently in power. Each feeds the other. If you are too entrenched in what seems to be “you,” then your coverage will forever be “I” centered. There has to be an active Loyal Opposition, or there is too little pushing of the frontiers of the reporters — of “you.”

I want to say something about memory. Consider that the level of ordinary consciousness is tied to everyone’s past. In This you are trying to go out in another direction. There is a way in which you can see that as new intelligence increases, your memory decreases. Memory begins to get shorter and shorter behind you, insofar as its immediate effect on your present operations. This is not something you try to do: you begin to realize it. You begin to see why I have told you that for those in This the past has no significance at all. You literally begin to drop memory like a lizard sheds a piece of its tail. Your memory’s still there — I grant you that — you do not go nuts.

It’s like memory is a room. And you have to go in there all the time. For instance, if you had to try and remember the name of an old high school acquaintance, you walk back into the room. All of your memory is still there. But if you’re going to do This, when you go into the room to find something you do not have to look at anything else lurking in there. You know that there is danger over in the corner — some old painful memory. If you have any ability at all, you do not have to look over at that corner. Because you know that if you do, you will be wrestling with somebody who cheated you ten years ago all over again. Being able to not “look around” is the same ability as the ability to “look around.”

Not all of you have heard this, but I’ve mentioned it in other ways. You’re driving on a freeway and you see cars piled up and lights flashing. And you know there has been an accident. Ahead of you, traffic has slowed down and everybody in line stops and looks at it the ambulance, the wreckage. But you are not a part of This if you look at that. If ordinary intelligence is all a person has, it is almost impossible not to look. (For those of you who can Hear around the corner, it is impossible. The people who do not look at accidents have no choice either. They are simply wired-up to not look.) There is literally a magnetic hold which will force your head to turn and look at a horrible accident. But you can resist and not look. Memory is the same way. You are trying to get to some piece of memory back in that room, and out of the corner of your eye you see a wreck. Maybe it’s a uniform — you are wasting energy if you look at that uniform and begin to suffer over your days in the army and how you were mistreated when discharged. What is being fed? Of what possible profit is it to look at an accident on the highway? Looking causes a loss of energy in you, and it is a sure sign that you do not belong in This if you go ahead and look anyway. There is nothing creative about looking at wrecks or bad memories.

As new intelligence increases, you will have less and less reliance upon the past. The faster and higher that intelligence moves, the more you are almost dropping off your “tail” constantly. What happened yesterday — two hours ago, five minutes ago — is over. It’s still there if someone has to bring it up, but it is not an operational part of what you’re doing right now. Everyone around you may indeed take it seriously: “Wait a minute. So-and-so just happened…” “Yeah, that’s right.” You have no business dragging around a ball-and-chain. You have no business having hardly any past as an operational part of your own intelligence. It’s not that you become a 3-D amnesia victim either. But you can go back into memory without looking around at wounded people, dead bodies, debts owed to you, and debts that you think you owe to others. Uniforms. Memorabilia. Knick-Knacks.

Something else. The operational buzz-word for this will be “waste-of-time.” To someone attempting to do This, there is a serious form of behavior that I have referred to as a waste of time. If you undertake an action connected with This, no matter what it is, and do not do it properly and completely, that’s not only a waste of time — it’s an insult to time. An insult. I have pointed out that each person has a time which is integral to themselves. Ordinary people have no awareness of this: there is no need. But a Real Revolutionist must understand that there is a personal time going on. I’m not speaking about wasting “clock time” — who cares!? You’ve wasted at least 20 or 30 years of clock time just by being ordinary. What does it matter? But to make a plan that is improperly formulated and that you will never complete is a waste of real time. There is a time which is in you and is personal. It is a piece of Life — the rhythm of Life working.

When you do not properly carry out an action connected with This, you are wasting, not clock time, but you. That is insulting you, me, and This. And it is dangerous, if you take This seriously. When I ask you people to help me make this more available to the general public, what do I get flooded with? I guess you would call it “plans and suggestions.” Actually I get flooded with insults. Suddenly we are up to our armpits with “plans,” and I get talked to death. And you get off on a plan, and I have to respond to it 400 different times — the same thing over and over and over. Do you know why? Because nothing is actually going on. It’s an insult.

Look at it this way: have I ever wasted your time? Have I ever announced a meeting only to show up and not talk because I, for one, can’t think of anything to say? Have I ever wasted your time? The answer is no. And what have you done for me? Plans are a waste of time when action is needed. Talk is an insult if what is needed are deeds. In the City it doesn’t matter. In the City, talk is action. Plans are accomplishments. Here, they’re not shit. “Some Success” will not do in This. You do not know the damage that plans without execution can do. Not to me — I am using me and This as an example — but to you. Once you can see this, it matters in everything. When you insult real time you insult yourself, you insult Life, and you insult This Activity. And the fact that you do not recognize this is almost a double insult. What is it that you do besides listen to me and make plans? What if all I did was think about action? What if This was just ideas?

All I have told you is about action. What I have told you about are things that can be done. Can I make you do them? No. If I could, would I? No. Plans made, and not satisfactorily and completely fulfilled, are dangerous insults. And you do direct damage to yourself by engaging in such. It is an ill. It is non-health.
