No Stale Doughnuts

What’s the sense in numbering pages
if you’re just going to keep them in order anyway?

“You may,” said one frothy father to his son,
“Jolly well ignore the admonition concerning
‘Minding your own business,’ for, Ahoy, my boy,
In the City, everybody’s business
IS everybody’s business!”

No one yet comprehends
the full, practical applications of electricity.

“There are no stale doughnuts in heaven,” said he.
“And why is that, Pa Pa?” he was asked.
“Because,” he said, “There are no yesterdays.”

When it came to in-town braggin’ rights,
this one guy claimed he was so tall he could stand on a chair.
