Only someone asleep can preach that everyone should be awake. Go sit down somewhere and consider that you have no idea of what you’re going to do next, let alone for the rest of your life. There is the knowledge that you’re going to do something, but you have no clue as to what. Moreover, you truly have no idea why/how you got to where you are right now!! But does it interfere with whatever you do next? Hardly. That is why people shouldn’t be awake: realization of impotence and ignorance would be paralyzing—fatal to Life’s growth.
People must feel that they are in control of what they do; that forethought and logical deliberation avail in their lives. Without such anchor they are just like the untethered astronaut, spinning in space, rushing from zero into the void, awaiting oblivion…(40:11) #3089

Accounts Not Hobbled By Hum Drum Concerns

Everyone wishes they had a different name —
which is what makes their present one tolerable.
“Yes, I may be asleep, but now I’m all right, knowing that I can awaken.”
“By the by: how did you discover that you were asleep?”
“From the same source where I learned I was asleep.”
“It’s neat how that worked out, no?!”
“Well how else could it have?!?!”
“Yeah, I was afraid that’s what you’d say.”
“I don’t follow?!”
Everybody wishes they lived somewhere else,
and believing there is a possibility of you moving is what makes staying where you are tolerable.
“Thank god (we all should say) for: tolerable-ness!” Amen.
Every day one man required that he fill out a new employment application to be him; “It is a tedious process,” he admits, ”But it’s worth it; after all, it’s me that’s at stake!”
Many people write anonymously — but who can think in such a way?
Conversation.
“Once for a while, a certain volcano tried using a P.R. firm.”
“I don’t believe that!”
“How about a tidal wave?”
“No!”
“A deadly virus?”
“Absolutely not!”
“And you don’t find your instant conviction concerning what I’m talking about, interesting?”
From a jungle came a voice:
“I don’t need anybody speaking for me!”
“All right! — WHO SAID THAT?” (Hint: his name starts with, R — like in, reality.)
Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow nor hail shall substitute for a real man’s mind.
“How about other people’s minds?”
Okay: revise the slogan.
Dialogue.
“I’ve heard you speak on several occasions, but am still confused:
what exactly are your lectures about?”
“I don’t suppose the reply: ‘Usually about ninety minutes’ would do, huh?!”
“Well, it’s more than I had before I asked.”
Exchange.
“At its core, the very best part of DoingTheThing is that no one knows what it is.”
“You know that can’t be true.”
“I do?”
Talking about anything is an excuse……………………….(of sorts).
“Dear Dr. Exacto: “Is having four small dogs the same as having one large one?”
All questions are potentially embarrassing — if you know what you’re doing.
Rap Rugby.
“He awakens the most who talks to himself the most.”
“Sometimes I can’t tell if you’re joking or not?!?”
“He jokes the most who talks to himself the most.”
“That’s better?”
Unless you can hover silently and indefinitely in mid air, between opposing ideas,
you are not much of a rebel spacecraft.
One guy only deals with himself anonymously.
Conversation Concerning Cultural Physics.
“Processes polarized are halted.”
“Whose side are you on anyway?”
“Obviously not alertness’ or I wouldn’t be on a side, now would I.”
Life is seamless — not so, city consciousness.
Well bred, sophisticated cows do not care to hear themselves referred to
by their species — indeed the unstated rule is that
the more civilized and cultured they are, the less they care for it.
Muse it: The more a creature is filled with intangible stuff it wasn’t born with
(and could thus be reasonably proposed to be superior to those lacking such
post natal additions) the greater does it struggle to keep from being identified
for what it by nature be.
Is success in man’s unique realm based on his ability to deny his basic humanity?
And what should this (having to do with ordinary consciousness)
be telling the rebel about the other state he believes he seeks?
Under the south side city bridge a welcoming troll chants out this rhyme
to approaching visitors:
“Overkill,
overkill,
when in here,
it fits the bill.”
The ordinary do not like having where they live accurately described.
In city affairs: what is un polarized lacks adequate dimensions.
“So you’re telling me that over there they get everything into its proper shape
by constricting it?!”
Sharpie over here!
The certain man cannot live not seeing accurately where he lives.
“Is that what makes all the difference?”
What else could it be.
