The Stories That Are The Secret Candidate Of The Unregistered Few
October 8, 2003 © 2003: JAN COX

Making your thoughts critical regrading man and his cultural activities
is the primary way life keeps you mesmerized, and mentally in line.
If sheep saw themselves for what they are,
and could thus have no complaint therewith,
their intelligence and sociability would drop precipitously.
Even the Liege Of Wartshire (be he fully deserving his title)
sees his kingdom as smooth as any other.
By nature are men fed weighted thoughts,
their minds always favoring one thing over another,
and in the physical world, this be necessary to survive,
and in man’s unique inner world, it also be required for this realm to survive,
but being prejudiced in affairs with no substance
is in no wise conducive to ever realizing what this time consuming,
incorporeal realm is really about (which realization,
explains everything you and everyone else has ever wanted to know).

Another way by which life keeps men in tow is by having their eyes/I’s stay glued to the meaningless affairs of other men.

In lieu evidently of a normal hobby,
one man instead saves all of the thoughts he ever has.

Two weird men met on a road and one said: “Let’s be civilized —
let’s think and speak only in clichés,” and the other replied:
“Yes! — then we will be like everyone else.”
(“I do not see that it was necessary to call them weird:
‘unusual’ would have sufficed.”)

One man in the city confides: “I don’t guess I feel guilty enough to ever be thoroughly respectable.”

Mental Health And The Grand Canyon Syndrome.
Ordinary minds could not function without hearing an echo when they speak.
(“I do not believe I understand that one: coming from where?”
Coming-from-where, indeed.

Proverbial Wisdom Re-Provided For.
Original Version: No man is a hero to his butler.
Revised Explanation: Every man IS his own butler.
“I say my good man, would you pass me the…”
“I am NOT your, ‘good man!’”
“Ahh, but indeed you are.”
“No I am not.”
“Yes you are.”
“Not!”
“Are.”
“Not!”
The Duke sent word to his underlings that they could remove the targets from their backs in that it was still two weeks ‘til the opening of Submission Season.
The great thing about being ruler of your own kingdom is —
(well, certainly no need to tell YOU what it is).

A man who purchased a quite expensive, multi volume encyclopedia of music,
and has read it through several times says he still cannot carry a tune,
and demands to: “Know what’s going on here!”
Note: It is not unknown for The Muse Of Talent to be waylaid by
The Genie Of Genetics. (Yeah, we shouldn’t be insulting your intelligence:
you know full well that they’re one in the same [but remember to tell the other cows; they do so seem to enjoy speculating about such — and it gives them something to do
so they don’t just aimlessly wander about in your yard.])

A Certain Cerebral Social Tip Restated.
The kind of people who want you to know the kind of person they
are aren’t worth knowing.
What profit comes from an association of Merlin and Odin?
Ordinary minds are forbade to take the laws of addition and multiplication with them into man’s intangible, cultural realm.

Autobiographies give both arrogance AND stupidity a bad name.

A telegram from the booking agent to the traveling troupe read:
“WHEN ADVERTISING THE ELEPHANT’S ACT IN MOUSEVILLE,
MIGHT USE DESCRIPTION SUCH AS:
‘A MOST SUBTLE AND SAFE PERFORMANCE.’ STOP.
CAN’T GUARANTEE SUCCESS,
BUT WORTH A TRY. STOP.”

Men came up with the mythical idea of Dwarfs after realizing that they may have overdone it with their allegorical concoction of Giants
(“Too overwhelming!” was the collective consensus.)
[Even lowly roaches need some way out.)

Conversation Between A Man-Who-Knows & One Who Doesn’t.
“A man with nothing to lose has the possibility of achieving the great gain.”
“But when you get down to it: no one has anything to lose
since everyone is going to die anyway.”
“But that is not what I am talking about.”
“So — explain what you do mean,”
and here is another example of why such conversations never occur.
