#1371 – 12/07:
Notes by TK

Mugger/victim. You are your own mugger and victim. Outrage with it, dwelling on it perpetuates mugging.

The News

94124-1
There was once a mystic who — for a price —
Would tell you everything he knew,
And for double the price, he wouldn’t tell you anything.
Sister version:
There was once a man interested in the mystical quest, who — –for any price he could afford —
Would seek-out, listen-to & consider
Anything that anybody had to say on the matter
Then when he finally realized what this is actually all about, he’d pay any price to keep from doing so.

94124-2
Knowing a little bit won’t help.
The mind can get parts of it, but never the whole.

94124-3
One guy cried out: “Turn me loose! — turn me loose!”
And someone asked: “Are you going to fight him?”
“No”, he replied, “Fighting him will do no good just turn me loose!”
The mystic of Queensborough remarked:
“It certainly was easier being an adolescent seeker —
— back when you still believed there-was- some-where to go, and something to be overcome.”
And the mere mention of this near drove one-man wild.
As he trooped along on the journey
One man began to replace personal, possessive pronouns with impersonal articles …(he says it works “Just as well.”
Plus, makes him feel much less embarrassed,
When engaged in nude, public conversation & thinking.)

94124-4
The routine reporting of news consists mainly in telling people
That things are getting worse when they didn’t think it was possible,
A man said to himself:
“If my brain is the anchor-desk,
And my mind, the news caster,
Who then is my viewing audience — besides myself!?”
This line of inquiry so upset the man
That he cancelled his sponsorship of all immediate programming. …(yeah!, right! — don’t he wish!)

94124-5
Man’s thoughts are the only thing that separates his,
“In here”, from the, “Out there”.
The ordinary are satisfied with the arrangement — mystics aren’t.
As soon as Adam could say, “I,”
God patted him on the head and said: “Good boy! — now go out and play.”

94124-6
Part of the fun in being verbal is in verbally investigating life.
Note: this is not the same as “Investigating” life   which is another matter altogether.
Use to was said that there are those who think, and those who act, but now would be better to say that there are those who think more, and those who think less.

94124-7
Those with greater conscious potential should not insult the dead –….By acting like them.

94124-8
While the simple believe it a struggle between good & evil,
And the sophisticated think it ‘twix truth & error,
None but the enlightened know the origin of such notions,
Nor remember the first shot fired, concurrent with man’s first word.
In all local realities —
For every arrow, there is another,
For every shield, there is another,
And for every wound, yet another.

94124 – 9
The unenlightened speak and think of life in examples
While those who’ve seen/take in the whole affair in a single gulp.
Ordinary minds say: “I’m going somewhere in my Chevrolet.” while the awakened hold their arms out like wings, and make lip noises like jet engines.
* * *
Okay, this seems like a good spot as any for “tonight’s distinction”:
Another way you can tell the difference between those-who-know, and those-who-don’t
Is that those who do
Won’t try and tell you about it.
….(yeah, and, “Okay”, I guess this is again as good a time as any
To remind you that, “Yeah! — it doesn’t make any sense, but so what!? – what else has a mystic-in-training to do until the big leagues call!?)

94124-10
Amidst the regal tutoring, the king told the prince:
“…And any time you’re momentarily at a lost as to what to say to the people, just make some hand gestures and throw in a bunch of: ‘you know’s’.” and the regent objected: “But everyone does that!”
And the monarch replied: “Well so?…      Oh, I see what you mean, but don’t worry about that — they’re not aware of it.”
Were a moral to be attached to this
We could have it say that such is the difference between “Royal thinking,” and the common kind,
Or else that this shows how little distinction there actually is, or, just let it go, and allow,
You know, the story to speak for itself.

94124-11
If you looked upon religions as fungus,
Then each of their founders was an anomalous spore,
Everything comes from somewhere –
Except that of uncommon value –
That kind of stuff comes from nowhere.                 Thank god.

94124-12
One man thought:
“There’s only three things standing between me and an enlightened consciousness — thoughts, thoughts, and thoughts.”,
He momentarily carried this further with the realization:
“There’s only three things standing between me and freedom from thoughts — words, words, and words.”
…(I suspect that he went even further than that!,
— since he dropped completely off the radar screen.)

94124-13
Once men gain mentation, (and are thus, truly men),
They become literary creatures, and are at first scribes, then reporters,
Then poets,
And then philosophers,
And the few who progress beyond this point
Next take up the total’ abandonment of re-write.
….(by the way, it’s not really that,
But what it is, is indescribable,
So, I thought I’d just call it that.)

94124-14
The brain is a tunnel –the mind, a train;
The brain, a tunnel –consciousness, a tunnel sweeper,
After hearing people complain of having “Storks in their chimney,”
One man snorted his dismissal and said: “Huh! You should see what’s in my head!
There are simple-minded, ordinary people,
And there are the awakened of simple minds,
But they are dissimilar in that one of them got this way on purpose.

94124-15
Some who start off on the mystical quest
Become addicted to a form of non-physical, auto-eroticism,
Which can act as a pacifier until they reach the hormonal age of losing interest in such stimulation.
As soon as Adam had a tux and could date,
God caused him to catch his pecker in his zipper.
Legend has it on another world
That there was once a group of creatures who believed that within the few seconds immediately surrounding death
That everything is suddenly made clear to everyone’. —
Except in their case, they believed it was within the few seconds immediately after death! —
In which case you’re old cold and it doesn’t do you any good.

94124-16
The thing about normal thought is that the thinker becomes lost in the thinking.

94124-17
The religious want freedom from the forces of evil,
Philosophers want freedom from irrational thought,
Scientists want freedom from clinical error,
And psychologists want freedom from unresolved subconscious traumas -the more alert, however, seek first to see the cause & purpose of man having such urges, and, (of course), at a later stage,
Pursuing their own liberation therefrom,
The silent slogan of one unnamed band of mystics was: “Hey, if it’s natural, then: let me outta here!”
The simple flee goblins — the alert flee the simple ….(well. … At least avoid them.)

94124-18
Men’s minds staying endlessly entangled in meaningless thought is what gave them the idea for drugs.-‘-
Get it!? — do you know what I’m talking about? —
If not, it shows that you still have all the evidence you need right before you to do so.
Isn’t that great!? — isn’t that really neat!? -no!?, you don’t think so!? —
Huh!, in that case — what d’you know any way — right!?  Right.

94124-19
The constructive criticism of man
Is the attempt to operate a water purification plant from a position within a cesspool.
“Phew!”, gasped a man, “It sure stinks in here.”
And a voice replied: “Then why don’t you get out of here!?”
Which shocked him into suddenly realizing that the most expedient move would be to overcome the notion that there is an “In here.”

94124-20
Today’s parable of nature
Everyone is born sick
And immediately commence to get sicker, only mystics interfere with the process.

94124-21
While the ordinary sometimes say that
They “Feel the weight of the world upon them”,
The more aware, (rather), feel the tension of the net with in them.
As he would ride,
There was this one warrior who’d sometimes sing:
“Oh, you can’t get away, no you can’t get away,
And only those ensnared think you
Can get away.”
….And at these odd moments,
His horse would ofttimes glance at the sunset, whose warmth can make mute flesh want to speak, but in a world where silence still says it all.
“Oh, you can’t get away, no you can’t get away,
And the more you talk about it, the more you
Can’t get away.”
…And yet such dreams of freedom were what carried the grenadier & his steed through many a cold night & wind-swept passage.

94124-22
One man lived inside his own head for so long that he became accustomed to it, poor man.

94124-23
Incompetence commonly drips with sincerity.
