The mystic process as a personal rejuvenation of the intellectual self. Don’t underestimate the significance of the longevity, the survival value (e.g., astrology from ancient times); of all forms of religion, occultism etc. as a search for external direction for personal growth. External direction is all the better for being further away (i.e., god) because less prone to critical scrutiny.

Thought is impossible without a “front wall”—a reinforcing opposition to pure consciousness. Mystical sight is consciousness w/o resistance, w/o words, at ease.
