Enlightened consciousness is not conscious – not in the sense that ordinary consciousness defines consciousness. Men wanting the cure, begin by seeking more consciousness, without understanding that consciousness is where the illness exists.
The Understanding Mind
is like space;
nothing confines space,
and neither is anything IN it
confined BY it.
Another Example of How Things Are:
A man who preaches that meat eating is not hostile to awakening is not awake, and only says it to justify his eating of meat. If you think that a man who preaches that meat eating is not hostile to awakening only says it to justify his eating of meat – you’re not awake.
Men who just have to “tell you about it,” just don’t know about it. The only thing to tell is that there is nothing to tell. Rule: never listen to a man who does not, as he speaks, demonstrate the attempted swallowing of one’s own lips.
Although it appears otherwise, a man who knows what’s going on in life is not what you would call, “sincere” in his dealings with the routine world. The fact is that it is not possible to know how things work, AND be so.
